A great ladies’ man, March had once made a play for Lombard when they were both under contract to Paramount. Lombard didn’t fancy March’s attentions and pulled one of her raunchiest pranks to discourage him. Inviting March to her dressing room for a drink one night, she proceeded to make herself available. As March’s hand started up her Lombard’s dress, he suddenly let out an astonished oath. He had grabbed a rubber dildo, which Lombard had strapped on herself before his arrival.
